Apply Filter for different type of visuals

Hi community!, I need your help please!!
I have this simple dashboard showing 3 KPIs and 3 other visuals, a pie chart, a line chart and a bar chart. After a lot… I was able to make the KPIs work (the YoY specifically) per this demo found here and is good:

The issue now is that I need to filter my other visuals with the same controls that I already implemented specifically for the KPIs.
This is my dashboard (apologies I dont know how to make a demo dashboard)

I used to have only a control, showing the months, and you select a month and the other visuals filter no problem.

But i had to redo everything to make the KPis work for year over year and I was able to make it work with the tips I found on the demo described before.
Now I dont know how to filter the other visuals with a date selection control and a period selection as i have, and I cannot add a different type of control (at least visible).

  • If I pick a date and have ‘month’ period selected, then the line chart should show the ‘month’ from the ‘selected date’ (it does not matter the specific day)
  • If I pick ‘quarter’ then the line chart should show the months from the quarter of the selected date.
    My dataset along with other data have the info for the month (number and name), the quarter (number), the year, the week number.

Please help, I thought it would be easier, but I really dont have an idea.

If I understand your issue correctly, you want the “Selected Period” and “Prior Period” filters to work across different charts, right? The problem is that you need to apply the same parameters (such as Periodstarting and Selectdate as demo) to your other charts as well. Let’s use Retail Amounts as an example. If you want the period filter to work, you need to include the Periodstarting parameter in your x-axis configuration.

In conclusion, if you want a parameter to work across different filters, you need to include it in every axis configuration that is relevant to your analysis.
