There’s a chart in power bi that doesn’t require any field in x axis , but to create a similar chart in quicksight I need a column in X axis
Is there any way I can create a dummy column and add it in x axis to replicate the same chart ?
attaching a ref below
Hi @Vysh27 ,
So one thing to note, Quick will always require a dimension in the X-Axis when it comes to vertical bar chart visualization type. However, I may have found a potential workaround. If you created a dummy variable or dummy dimension and in the calculated field is a string (could be an empty string “ “), then that is enough for QuickSight so be able to create the visual.
As you can see my dummy variable is called “dummytest” and then to create multiple bars I added “region” to group/color.
Now ultimately I think it depends on what fields you use and the data in those fields. Moreover, this just may be one of those things that can be done in other BI tools like PowerBi that cannot be done in QuickSight.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other additional questions!
