I have Owner-level permissions on a SPICE dataset in the amazonbi QuickSight account (dataset ID: , “Customer Shipment Receipt Based”), but the Apply button is disabled when I try to edit the Custom
SQL query.

│ Other users with Owner access on the same dataset can see and use the Apply button without issues.

│ What I’ve tried:
│ - Confirmed I’m listed as Owner in the dataset’s Permissions tab (plain text “Owner” — not a dropdown, no “Revoke access” action)
│ - Edited the SQL and attempted to Apply — button remains greyed out
│ - Save & Publish does not persist my SQL changes (publishes the old query instead)

A quick note to add in, as this is a public facing forum, please refrain from sharing specific account information, like asset or account ID’s (I removed from original post to keep hidden).
In regards to your issue, I feel like it may be linked to permissions around the datasource as opposed to the dataset, especially since you’re trying to edit the sql. You may just have viewer permissions for the datasource, which will not allow you to edit.
I would suggest confirming your permissions around the parent datasource and reach out internally within your organization to get that permission updated.
