When I try to upload a .xlsm file to the chat, I get the error:

“The file was rejected. It may be too large or an unsupported type.”

The file is small (under 1 MB), so it’s not a size issue — it seems like .xlsm is not in the list of supported file types for upload.

This is a blocker for my workflow: I work with Amazon Vendor Central templates daily, which are all .xlsm files. I’ve built custom agents around this workflow and need to upload these files directly to chat.

Current workaround: My desktop app is connected, so the agent can read the file from my Downloads folder via the outpost. But direct upload would be much more convenient, especially for agents that other team members use.

Request: Please add .xlsm to the supported upload file types.

You’re right that .xlsm isn’t in the chat upload allowlist (Working with chat - Amazon Quick). The outpost workaround you’re already using is the most reliable path for now. Alternatively, if macros aren’t needed for the agent’s processing, saving as .xlsx before uploading works in a pinch.
