Issues Filtering Data

Hi team, I’m hoping for assistance with filtering in QuickSight. My dashboard imports data from Amazon Projects, and I’m struggling to filter data to a specific page. For instance, I’ve applied a filter to one “webname,” but I’m still receiving data from other sites. Any insights on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @dherasme ,

Couple of things for you to check

  1. Use of Exclude filter condition - You have chosen to exclude all webname values other than ‘Closed Deal List’. Ideally, this will get you data for ‘Closed Deal List’ in the visuals on your sheet. However, keep in mind that the exclude filter isn’t dynamic. So, if new webname values get added to your data source, those new ones will show up alongside ‘Closed Deal List’ since they haven’t been explicitly excluded.
    If your intent is to always see data for ‘Closed Deal List’, use filter condition ‘Include’ with just that one value. This will always filter for that one value regardless of new data getting added.

  2. Filter scope - Your filter is scoped for ‘This sheet’ and will apply to the current sheet only. If you are seeing values in other sheets and that is what you are trying to fix, then change the filter scope to cover all sheets.

I can’t think of any other suggestions at this point. If you can recreate this issue in Arena using sample non-sensitive data, I can take a deeper look to see what is going on.

It’s been a while since we last heard from you. Were you able to find a work around for your solution or are you still encountering same issues? If so, is there any way that you can follow Arun’s suggestion from above and create an Arena view for us to try and assist further?
