Migration of QuickSight to new Account

Team,

We are in the process of migrating to a new Master Payer account. During this migration, we would like to migrate all QuickSight data, reports, dashboards, etc… [everything].

Is this possible? If so, are there any recommendations from the community on how to start.
I am not overly familiar with QuickSight which is “less than helpful” in this request.

First, you will need to have the data sources set up in your new account (RDS, Athena, S3, etc…)

Then you can utilize cloud formation or the new quicksight api’s to migrate.

A couple of things to note:

  • If you are doing cloud formation you need to create a template and share that template with the account.
  • When using the new api’s make sure to substitute the new data you have set up.
