Not responding to conversations

Seeking help precious help: Quick desktop working fine before vacation came back and it will not respond to conversations new and old. I have updated restarted relogged in and Amazon quick opens and loads but does nothing when asking it in conversations.. no response no time out and no spinner.

Hi @jascline

Welcome to the Quick community!

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this, I can understand how frustrating it must be. Let’s work through a few steps to get things back on track.

Please try the following troubleshooting:

  1. Re-authenticate your session

    • Go to Settings -> Capabilities -> Connections -> Authentication
    • Sign out completely, then sign back in. After extended time away, the authentication token can expire silently, which causes the app to load normally but not process any messages.
  2. Start a brand-new conversation: Click New chat in the sidebar and try sending a message there. Existing conversations may have entered a stuck state during the period when the connection was inactive.

  3. Switch the model mode: In the chat input area at the bottom, try switching between Fast / Balanced / Smart using the mode selector. This can help rule out an issue with a specific model endpoint.

  4. Fully quit and relaunch the app: Close Amazon Quick entirely (not just the window right-click the system tray/dock icon and choose Quit), wait a few seconds, then reopen it.

  5. Check your network connection: If you’re on a corporate VPN or network, confirm it hasn’t changed while you were away. Amazon Quick needs outbound internet access to generate responses.

  6. Check for updates: Go to Help -> Check for Updates and ensure you’re on the latest version. An update may have been released while you were away that addresses this.

If none of the above resolves the issue, I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details so that we can help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!

I ran into the same issue. Signing out and in again (which I believe is now moved under [account name] > Sign Out on the bottom left) did the trick. Thanks
