Hi there,
Bug: Quick Work blocks usage on an account with no exhausted meter and unspent budget
Quick Work returns “You’ve reached your Quick Work usage limit. Check your profile for details.” Manage account, at the same moment, shows 0 users blocked, 0 / 50 GB indexed storage, allow extra usage on, and $152.94 of a $300 cap used. Single user
Hi @Samuel_Eaton and welcome to the Quick Community!
I believe this is the session limit, not your monthly cap. Quick enforces two separate limits: the monthly one you see in Manage Account (your $300 cap with $152.94 used), and a shorter session-based rolling window that throttles bursts of activity. The Manage Account page doesn’t surface the session limit, so everything looks fine there even when you’re temporarily paused. Moreover, it is also important to keep in mind that $152.94 is your extra spend on top of the plan’s base allocation, so you’ve actually burned through quite a bit of capacity this cycle. The session window tightens as you consume more of your budget, which makes these pauses more likely later in the month.
It should clear on its own since the rolling window refreshes continuously. I would recommend waiting a bit and trying again in a bit. Starting a fresh chat when you do will help, since long conversations eat more usage per turn (docs).
If it doesn’t clear within a couple hours, I would recommend opening an AWS Support case. There have been several threads here from people hitting this in ways that feel disproportionate to their usage, and Support can see the server-side metering that the UI doesn’t expose. Please refer to this resource on how to open a support ticket (Case management - AWS Support).
