Add Filter and Search option at folder level

Hi Team,

It would be helpful if you could provide a filter and search option at the folder level to help us find the analysis, dashboard, and dataset when we are maintaining a lot of assets in one folder.

Hi @achourey

Sorry, currently this feature is not supported, direct filtering or searching within folders at the folder level for analyses, dashboards, or datasets. But I’m marking this for feature request. At AWS, their roadmap is primarily driven by customers. Your feedback helps them build a better service. I have tagged this as a feature request. More features are being added on a regular basis, so please keep an eye on the What’s New / Blog . You can set up a Watching Alert by clicking on the bell icon.

Here are some workarounds

  • Implement consistent naming conventions or use descriptive tags when creating assets. This will make it easier to identify and group related items when browsing through folders.

  • While you can’t filter within a specific folder, you can use the global search bar at the top of the QuickSight console to search for analyses, dashboards, or datasets across your account. Combining this with good naming conventions can improve search results.

  • QuickSight’s folder structure is organizing assets into logically named subfolders may help you manage assets more efficiently.

  • If you’re managing a lot of assets, you can use the QuickSight API to list, search, and manage your assets programmatically. You could build a custom solution or tool that filters results at the parent folder level.

Please refer the below documentation this might be helpful for you.

Hope this helps!
