AWS re:Invent 2024, held this year from December 1–5 in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a learning conference hosted by AWS for the global cloud computing community. The in-person event features keynote announcements, innovation talks, workshops, builder labs, and more.
This year’s re:Invent underscored our commitment to helping every user to make better data-driven decisions with Amazon Quick Sight, including the introduction of new generative business intelligence (BI) capabilities to help you make better use of unstructured data, perform in-depth analysis, and much more. Quick Sight enables organizations to deliver insights with modern interactive dashboards, embedded analytics, pixel-perfect reports, and natural language. These consolidated BI capabilities of Quick Sight have earned it a position in the Leader Quadrant on the G2 Grid for Analytics Platforms.

Feature launches
Amazon Q in Quick Sight unifies insights from structured and unstructured data
Now generally available, Amazon Q in Quick Sight provides users with unified insights from structured and unstructured data sources through integration with Amazon Q Business. With Amazon Q in Quick Sight, business users can now augment insights from traditional BI data sources such as databases, data lakes, and data warehouses with contextual information from unstructured sources. Specifically, Q&A responses and data stories can now be augmented with data from documents, weblinks, emails, images, messages, and over 40 sources to provide additional context, helping you make better use of your enterprise data and make more informed decisions.
Amazon Q in Quick Sight scenario analysis capability now available in preview
Now in preview, the scenario analysis capability of Amazon Q in Quick Sight helps you find solutions to complex problems with ease. Amazon Q now guides you step by step through in-depth data analysis—suggesting analytical approaches, automatically analyzing data, and summarizing findings with suggested actions. This agentic approach breaks down data analysis into a series of simple-to-understand, executable steps, helping business users find solutions to problems without specialized skills and perform complex scenario analysis up to 10 times faster than spreadsheets.

Other activities
Located in Voltaire at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the GenAI Lounge offered customers the ability to engage with AWS employees and gain insights on how they can bring the benefits of generative AI to their organizations. Several hundred in-person meetings were held with customers across nearly every industry, with many sharing the transformative effect generative AI is having on their organizations, including from Amazon Q in Quick Sight.
