We have an embeded dashboard for readers and here they can choose “Analyze contributions” on the bars in the chart. First problem is that we do not want to offer this option to the users but it cannot be disabled.
Now that we cannot disable it we would like to see it work. We have not yet seen it come with a result it just keep running?
The period I choose is just 7 days, we use Spice and the row count is around 5 million.
The dataset we use have row-level security (RLS) which I know can limit some functionality but now sure if this is causing the problem.
Have you ever just let it run to see if it finally completes or has it proved to just perpetually keep running or ends with no result?
My assumption right now is that if you have RLS for the reader view that there is possibly fields coming up that can be added for the contributions that either are blocked by RLS or maybe contingent on fields blocked by RLS.
When you ran your test above did you choose the same 4 fields for both reader and author view?
I have never seen it finish and have tried to wait for a long time. When doing it as Admin it comes up right away. Have tried with the same fields and also many other fields and combination just to test it out.
As I see it and as you mention it seems like it’s not working under RLS and it would perfect if it could be confirmed or not. If it’s not working under RLS then the option should not be show for readers or we should be able to turn it off.
Right now we are going live in 14 days with our solution and it’s a bit of a drawback that it’s not working when the option cannot be removed.
