Hi, I have a new QuickSight user who has an apostrophe in their name/email address. This is inhibiting that user from receiving the Welcome Email that QuickSight sends to new users that are set up.
Is there a way around this, so that this new user will receive their Welcome Email from QuickSight and login?
Hi @lelande - Welcome to AWS QuickSight community and thanks for posting the question. I am not sure if an email address contain apostrophe character, is it a valid email or not. Is the user getting other emails? Can you also check whether the email is in spam or others category or not. If the user is able to receive other emails, then QuickSight email should be delivered.
Thank you for your welcome & reply @Sanjeeb2022 . The user does receive emails from other systems, but the QuickSight system does not seem to accept apostrophes in usernames/emails. I’ve attached a screenshot as an identical example of what I’m seeing when adding the user:
Hi @lelande - Can you try to give any user name ( not email address) and invite the user. Theoretically the user will get the email but login will be the user id.
@lelande As @Sanjeeb2022 alluded to, the issue is not the apostrophe in the email address. QuickSight is erroring out on the username field. Please try changing the username to only have valid characters and leave the email with the apostrophe.
