I am faced with using a parameter to switch between two Inverse KPIs. For instance, I want to use a parameter to select Cost and Revenue.
A KPI visual is used with the right calculated field. The KPI shows directions, Up or Down (↑ or ↓), depending on if there’s increase or decrease in relation to the KPI’s previous value
When there’s decrease in Cost, the arrow shown is Down Arrow(↓). As this is a ‘good decrease’, the arrow is expected to be Up Arrow(↑), and not Down Arrow(↓).
When there’s a decrease in Revenue, the arrow shows Down Arrow(↓), and this is fine and expected.
However, the conditional formatting is not helping me appropriately use the arrows for these kinds of KPIs. That is, I want to show Up Arrow(↑)for the ‘good decrease’ as described above.
Hi @Sarmie,
To make sure I understand the portion of the KPI you are referring to in this situation, are you talking about the arrow in the circled section shown below?
I tried attempting to hide the ‘trend direction’ (pointed out above) and that does not seem to have an affect on the visual; so I wonder if that control is intended to hide that section but is a current bug in QS.
From all of my testing, it seems like the ability to control these directional arrows is not an available feature as of now, I will mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the support team.
While my request was to be able to choose directions, at will, based on the KPI (especially for Inverse KPIs like in my use case), it would also be a great option to leave the directions out. Hopefully, the Support Team can fix this obvious bug
