Calculated field with selective filters ignored

I want to calculate unique devices for a dataset to use further for calculating a ratio.
I want to ignore two filters out of all.
fault free devices = 1 - (total affected devices/total unique devices)

the denominator( total unique devices ) should not change when fault type or component is changed but the numerator (total affected devices) can change

Hi @shefalim and welcome to the QuickSight community!
You can make changes to which visuals are affected by a specific filter through setting up custom visual selection.
So for your case, go in the the edit filter option for your fault type filter. Switch the ‘Applied To’ option to ‘this sheet’ if not already set, and then you can change the slider over to turn on custom select visuals. Unselect the visual (Total unique devices) from being applied (see below for example)

Let me know if this helps for your case or if you have any additional questions.

The first visual ( Fault free devices) that I want to create is calculated using two other calculated field.
fault-free devices/total devices

which change in filter I want the numerator to change but not the denominator.
If I follow your approach, this will altogether not change anything but i want the denominator to remain constant

Hi @shefalim,
What type of visual are you trying to create for this? Also, can you share the 2 calculated fields so that we can see how it’s changing?

Hi @shefalim,
It’s been awhile since we last heard from you, did you have any additional questions or were you able to find a work around for your case?

If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic.

Thank you!
