Hi,
I have a sheet that has several visuals and is managed by order_day level, among them I have one visual that shows total orders on hourly basis and has metro_region as control panel which shows all the metro regions irrespective the metro region has orders or no orders for that order day.
But I want a cascading filter when a particular region doesn’t have orders for that order_day it shouldn’t even show in the metro_region panel.
Not sure if cascading is the right way, I am new to Quicksight
I tried so many ways but couldn’t figure it out. Any help would be great.
Hi @Quicksight_beginner,
You can do this by creating cascading controls.
Take a look at this link:
Can you explain with an example I mentioned
Do you already have filters for order_day and metro_region?
Click on “Edit” for your metro_region filter and then on “Show relevant values”.
Then select your order_day filter from the list.
Order_Day is at overall sheet level, metro_region is just for one of the visuals, when I edit that I don’t see Order_Day.
Is there something I am missing, the visual shows orders at order day hourly level.
Can you show a screenshot of your analysis?
Are census_metro and order_day in the same dataset? If you want census_metro to show relevant values based on order_day, both fields have to be in the same dataset. If they’re not, you’ll have to join the two datasets.
They are in the same datasets
Can you show a screenshot of what you see when you click on “Show relevant values” for the census_metro filter?
