I’m working with a analysis with two datasets A and B. Now I’d like to change both with dataset C.
I can replace dataset A correctly, but when I try to replace B there is no options to select dataset C, because it’s already in the analysis. How can I replace dataset C?
QS allow only one to one dataset replacement. You can try to merge A and B first and as secondary step you can replace with with if your data model allowed.
Were you able to find a solution or was @Naveed 's comment helpful? If so could you post your solution or mark their comment above as a solution to help the community?
Hello @KLIKIN, based on that information, I think merging the 2 datasets is likely not the best option. I am also not sure if that would fix the issue because then you would still have visuals linked to dataset A (now merged with B), and dataset B.
Now, if you want to merge the 2, then manually replace visuals linked to dataset B with the new dataset A, and then replace with C you can do that, but it basically just makes you do the required steps in a different order. In that case you click the “Add Data” button on your edit dataset page and join with an existing dataset. Then if you link the 2 dots, you can decide between a left, right, inner, or full outer join. I’ll post images of this below.
Unfortunately, like Naveed said, you can only replace a single dataset here, so it may be the best course of action to rebuild visuals linked to dataset B with dataset C after replacing dataset A. I can tag this as a feature-request though, so the Support Team knows this is desired functionality. So while this is a possible solution, I will do that as well!
