Comparison Charts MTD / YTD & Summary on TTM Chart

Hey,

I am running into a couple of issues with comparisons and having totals or aggregated data as well.

  1. Trying to find out how to have a comparison tile comparing a MTD metric that would update daily to add the new day or roll into the next month compared to last year same time period. For instance having Sep1-15 '24 compare to the same data from Sep 1-15 '23. I have checked through the KPIs but my only options for a comparison time period are the prior week, year, day etc.
  2. YTD for the same above
  3. Lastly I am looking to have TTM charts which I have built but the last bar or column or information be an average or sum of the prior 12 months.

Any help would be appreciated and happy to add screenshots. New to QS so hopefully it is an easy ask!

Hello @Joseph_W_Waldrum !

For your first and second question you can probably use the addDateTime function with parameters that determine the scope of the calculated field for your KPI metric. When setting up a date time parameter you can choose relative dates like the screenshot below.

You can use calculated fields similar to below:
This Month KPI =

ifelse(
${StartMonth} >= {YourDateField} AND ${Today} <= {YourDateField},
{metric}, 
NULL
)

Comparison Metric Month:

ifelse(
${StartPreviousMonth} >= {YourDateField AND addDateTime(-1, 'MM', ${Today}) <= {YourDateField}, 
Null
)

For the last part of your question, can you share more about how you created the TTM chart and share the calculated field?

Okay so how do I get these into the same tile? On the KPI portion when adding a trend group I cant select any other options besides the day, week, month, year so the trend won’t give me any customizable options. Am trying to compare multiple KPIs each on their own respective tile in the MTD and then on another sheet basically copying all but making it YTD

Hey @Joseph_W_Waldrum !

To do that you would have to create multiple KPI visuals to get close to the effect that you want.
