Counting distinct strings in a column

Using Quicksight, I have a dataset consisting of police crime statistics and wish to know how many different strings are in the column marked “Neighborhood.” How do I do this in quicksight? This is the first time I have used quicksight.

TIA

Hi @btenneson
please have a look at

Hello,

I see syntax for that command looks like this: distinct_count({Order Date})

But where do I enter that command? Does it go into an entry in the table?

Can you please narrow down the 35 minute video or tell me where the total number of strings is counted. In my example, I have a 100+MB CSV and there is a column called neighborhood. How do I calculate how many distinct neighborhoods there are. If you could tell me where this is in the video I’d be much obliged.

Thanks

So you don’t know where in the 35 minute video what the information is?

You have to create a calculated field.
