I have some dashboards in QuickSight and I would like to create practical and accessible documentation for users. My idea is something similar to AWS workshops, with well-structured topics and GIFs demonstrating actions such as clicking buttons, applying filters and other functionalities.
I would like to know if there is a way to create this type of documentation directly in the report or if there are similar alternatives in QuickSight. If anyone has done something similar before or knows a viable solution, could you share?
Hi @ArthurMendes,
In terms of adding screenshots, you can use the ‘add custom content’ option. To do this, you’ll need to utilize public files though so if they are not currently public, I would suggest creating an S3 public bucket that you can store them in, then use the link generated from there to place in your analysis.
I’m not sure if this also works for GIF’s but it is worth a try. If it does not work, let me know and I can mark as a feature request.
Thanks for the explanation. I’m going to test this approach using a public bucket on S3 to store the images and reference them in the analysis. I’ll also try it with GIFs to see if it works. If it doesn’t work, I’ll let you know so we can file a feature request.
However, I’d like to leave this issue open for a while. Maybe someone who has done something like this can share their experience.
