Cross Account Data Catalog Access

I have Glue Data Catalogs created in producer account in both us-east-1 and us-east-2 regions. I have followed this documentation to set up cross account access in consumer account in us-east-1 and us-east-2 regions. Use Amazon Athena and Amazon QuickSight in a cross-account environment | AWS Big Data Blog

I am able to successfully access us-east-2 catalog of producer in us-east-2 athena consumer account.

I have enabled same configuration for us-east-1 as well. However I am unable to see any tables/ views of us-east-1 catalog of producer account in us-east-1 athena consumer account.

Both us-east-1 and us-east-2 catalog tables in producer account are created from s3 in us-east-2. Is this the reason? I can’t think of anything else since permissions/ set up is exactly the same.

Hello Krishna,

First of all welcome to the QuickSight Community.
When you say cannot access where are you accessing it from ? QuickSight or Athena ?

based on the answer of above we may be able to trouble shoot further. If you meant by accessing via QuickSight then where is your QuikSight region ?

Thanks for checking.

Cheers,
Deep

Both (athena and quicksight).

First point of check was Athena access. (I was able to see the database name of producer us-east-1 catalog in consumer us-east-1 athena but it didn’t show any tables/ views.)

After deep dive, the issue was insufficient grant priveleges in lake formation of producer us-east-1 database tables and views.
