Current Year vs Previous Year Calculation

Greetings!
I have been trying to replicate my organization’s visualization assets into QuickSight from Power BI as we are exploring a shift and this particular calculation is proving to be difficult. As visible, the bar chart is comparing monthly transactions with the transactions for the same month in 2023. Even though the filter above is only considering the current year, the previous year calculation is automatically considering the last year value for each corresponding month. But this is not happening in QuickSight, is there any way this could be achieved?
Thank You!!

For some reason QuickSight won’t allow me to put two sceenshots so here’s the QuickSight visual for reference:

Hey @vkedia ,

welcome to the QuickSight Community .

In your situation you can’t filter for that specific timerange - in your example you only access data from 2024/01/01 till 2024/05/21 everything else is ignored. You need to use parameters in a calculation.
I think @Jesse answered a similar question here: Period Over Period Functions with Date Controls - #3 by Jesse
There are also great articles that can give your more inside:
Period Over Period and Other Date Comparison Calculations (YoY, MoM, YTD, Rolling 90 days, etc) - Learning Center / Articles - Amazon QuickSight Community
Creating period comparisons with QuickSight’s periodOver and periodTo functions - Learning Center / Articles - Amazon QuickSight Community

If you still need help just reach out - maybe you/we can create something in arena and test it there.

Hi vedant @vkedia ,

I’m marking Robert’s (@robert.eibers) response as the solution.
Please let us know if you are still facing issues and include an Arena sample as suggested in last response.
