Datasources displayed as a list

Hello,

I have an issue with Quicksight UI. It is on the UI related to datasources.

Currently, I have multiple team working on Quicksight in my organization. Each team administrates its dashboards and associated resources. We are grouping all resources associated to a subject dashboard in the same folder, we have datasources, datasets, analysis and dashboard group by logical subject in a folder. We are then releasing those assets together on multiple folders (we have a multi account, multi stage setup).

We are relying on naming convention to deploy an asset in an environment with a templated string being filled by env value.

When creating a dataset and trying to pick the good datasource, the display is really hard to use with our usage (please see the attached picture).

Is there an option to change the display of this list? Is it possible to manage the datasources through UI other than going through the “New Dataset” option. It is pretty hard to explain to my organisation user, that to manage their datasource (and add them to their working folder for example) they need to go through “New Dataset”.

For information, we are currently using quicksight “enterprise edition”.
Thanks for your product!

Hi @athollon and welcome to the Quick Sight community!
Thank you for bringing this to attention, I agree that it is a bit odd that you cannot change the layout of the datasource screen like you can on some of the other Quick Sight landing pages but there is currently no way to change this layout.

In terms of managing your datasource(s), depending on what you’re trying to accomplish, you may be able to handle through the ‘Manage Quick Sight’ section, which can be accessed by clicking on the person icon in the top right corner of Quick Sight page.
Then, on the left, you can select ‘Manage Assets’, where you can choose your datasources:

In regards to the page layout, I’ll mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the support team. Let me know if you have any additional questions regarding your topic.
