Disable Dataset refresh after Edit

Hi,

In QuickSight, whenever a dataset is edited, a new refresh is triggered automatically. Is there any way to disable the refresh the follows such that when I edit a dataset, it is not refreshed automatically (I have a schedule that performs the refresh).

Hi @andreimaxim,
Unfortunately, anytime you alter how the dataset is being ingested into QuickSight, it will force a refresh.
I’ll go ahead and mark this as a feature request so that the QuickSight team has eyes on it!

Got it! I have a Cloudformation update on a dataset and at deploy time it is modifying the dataset and afterwards waiting for the refresh to finish, impacting deployment duration. Would be great to have an option to disable/enable this in the future.
