I can’t seem to figure out a way to input qualitative data in using the filled maps visualization.
Essentially, I’d like to know if anyone has experience building a regional map. Where one could sperate each state into a region.
The points on a map visualization accepts the data perfectly, but I’d like the entire state to be filled out, instead of just what looks like points on the map.
I tried that at first, and that’s exactly the format I’m looking for. But, the filled map appears to only allow input of Quantitative data for comparative analytics. So, Qualitative data, like names and descriptions, can’t be used in that data field well.

While there is no direct way of using non quantitative data to color the filled map, you can use a workaround by (1) creating a calculated field and (2) Using conditional formatting.
