Dynamic Suffix for Calculated Field

Is there a way to make the suffix dynamic? For example, my KPI is latency, then it should be ‘s’, if the KPI is count, it should be blank. If the KPI is in percentage, it should be in percentage.

Hello @Mark_Anthony_Ching, are you using a calculated field with an ifelse statement to determine that kind of a value that will populate within this KPI? If you are doing that maybe you could convert the returned value to a string and concat the desired suffix because there is not a way to set that field to a dynamic value.

Another option would be to utilize the Free Form view for that sheet and set Rules to display or hide KPIs depending on a parameter selection. Instead of including all 3 options in 1 KPI, set each up with their own and the display can update depending on a parameter value. Here are screenshots to show where you would implement that process:
ConditionalRules
AddNewRule

Let me know if one of those options help you find the solution you are looking for!

Didn’t work for me on the calculated field as converting it to string will just cause aggregation error. The free form is a nice trick though but we’re more of using the classic layout.

Hello @Mark_Anthony_Ching, if you are able to send the calculated field you have created to build out this KPI functionality I would be interested to see if we can debug it together. I think if you want to avoid using Free Form that is the best alternative solution to achieve your desired outcome.

As for the dynamic suffix functionality you originally mentioned, I will tag your question as a feature request. At AWS, our roadmap is primarily driven by our customers and your feedback helps us build a better service. Thank you!

Hello @Mark_Anthony_Ching, I wanted to follow up and see if are you able to send a screenshot of how you are building out your calculated field. Otherwise I will archive this topic and leave it marked as a feature request related to adding dynamic Suffix values. Thank you!

Hi @Mark_Anthony_Ching . Checking in. We have not heard back from you regarding your question. We’d still like to help. If we do not hear back in the next 7 days, we will archive the question.”
