I have a sheet in which I have a navigation filter that goes to another sheet (a paginated report) using a parameter. In the paginated report, I have a filter in which I filter the value of the parameter used on the action filter, so in that way I can use the parameter in the paginated report and add it as a title in one of the section so that everyone knows the value that is being filter in the report. However, when sending an scheduled report it send all the information instead of only the value filter even though I have activate the action filter and I am seeing just 1 value instead of all.
Is there any way to send an scheduled report with the action filter applied so that I can see only the value I have sent?
I’m not sure that what you are describing is currently possible with paginated reporting. To clarify, you want the ability to have a navigation action from another sheet filter the data on a Paginated Report and then have that filtered data be sent out in an email through one of your schedules?
Are you able to follow up on your use case? Again, I’m not sure that this is currently possible but there may be a workaround if I know more about your use case.
Hi @Donald_Duncan
Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Actually it is exactly what you mentioned on the first reply, however, I have spoken with a Quicksight SME and have asked whether it was possible to select a default value for the parameter being used on the navigation action, by doing that I came with the workaround of selecting dynamic default for users and they sending the email and it worked, if you have another option it will also be highly appreciated.
I’m glad that you were able to connect with the Quicksight team. I think the workaround you have is the best option. I use paginated reports a bit as well and I think the functionality would be really helpful.
I will mark this as a feature request for the Quicksight team!
