Hello,
This issue is recurring across several dashboards and several email aliases over a large time. I am unable to figure a solution.
Problem: When attempting to “Share” a dashboard, I am searching for a known email alias (or several) and some just don’t show as an option to select at all. I have tried old aliases, newly developed aliases, aliases that have been used before, etc.
I cannot get these email lists into the dashboard to share. I intend to set up an automated report but cannot get the recipients access without inputting each individual email alias separately. The report will go out to hundreds of people at a time and I need a sustainable solution.
You can check all QuickSight user accounts using the list_user API call or by navigating to the QuickSight Manage Users interface. This will allow you to verify if any user email addresses are incorrect.
If you find any incorrect emails, you can update them using the update_user API call. This ensures that all the necessary email aliases are correctly configured in QuickSight.
Once your users are correctly set up, you can add them to a group. After that, you can easily share access to the dashboard access with the entire group, instead of inputting each email alias individually. This approach is more sustainable, especially when dealing with large recipient lists for automated reports.
