Error while importing dashboard after integrating QuickSight with IAM Identity Center

Hi All,

I am getting the following error while trying to import my QuickSight dashboard backup into my QuickSight account after integrating the account with IAM Identity Center.

I am trying to load the backup file back into the new QuickSight account.

Error message:

InvalidParameterValueException: IdentityCenterConfiguration cannot be changed

It looks like there’s a conflict related to the Identity Center configuration, or the backup might be retaining references from the previous account.

Would appreciate any guidance or best practices for safely importing the backup into the new account after integrating with IAM Identity Center.

there are several ways to backup/restore QuickSight assets. It’s not clear which of them you use. Anyway, QuickSight assets are saved to JSON files. You can manually edit them and replace the section[s] that causes this fail with a valid one. The valid section you can get from a backup that was created after integrating with IAM Identity Center (it can be a very simple dashboard). But before doing this it makes sense to doublecheck if you can override these settings just using restore parameters.
