Errors when adding specific calculated field to dataset

I want to create a month year parameter filter.
I have managed to get it working buy creating the following calculated field.

Month-Year
formatDate({T_tradeDateTime}, ‘MM yyyy’)

result example 06 2021 etc…

I use this field (that is a string) then to create a parameter and filter.
This works on dataset I imported from csv into spice.

If I do the same on a dataset I have in direct query from RDS database the filter and parameter are created but then it never refreshes with the values and I get an error saying refresh later or invalid filter.

If I try to import the dataset into SPICE I get :
error and email.
“DemoData” failed to refresh

A problem occurred during the refresh of your SPICE dataset for the account “ncfx”. Here are the details:

An invalid date format appeared. Check your dataset in Amazon QuickSight and try again.

If I add the custom field after the data is imported I get the error at next refresh.

Can anyone help me understand where the problem lies?

I would suggest you to open up a support case and provide details on your dataset and analysis. If your company has an internal IT team, you might not have direct access to AWS Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team. They’ll open an AWS Support case on your behalf.
