I am building a Dashboard on which I want the user to be able to see different visualizations based on Country Filters.
I did this by using parameters and then Rules in the Interactions panel. There is one visualization that requires 2 Rules, one to filter by Country and the other one to filter by Date. As the logic behind rules is “OR”, it does not work for the filter I wish to build.
Is there any workaround to filter by Country & Date and generate a different visualization?
Unfortunately, you are correct when assuming this is a current limitation within Quick Sight. While you are able to setup an action that filters a visual based on multiple parameters/controls, when it comes to hiding visuals, this can only be handled by one parameter. In terms of work around, there’s no great way to implement a rule that hides visuals off of 2 parameters. I believe that the best option here would be to hide based on one of your controls and then use the other control as a standard filter on the visual.
I will mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the support team.
Following up here as it’s been awhile since last communication took place on this thread; while I’ve marked this as a feature request already, checking in to see if you had any additional questions or comments to add?
If we do not hear back within the next 3 business days, I’ll close out this topic.
