Q1) I have multiple columns. I would like to use filter only on 1 specific column. And other columns would be constant and no changes in the table. Similar to excel.
Q2) I have 2 table visuals, can we merge or link them as 1 table. The data I want is making me to create separate tables.
Q1. To sort by a specific column, you can click on the column title and select if you’d like to do ascending or descending (see below). In regards to your other columns not changing; unlike in excel where cells can act as their own, in QuickSight, field values are matched to others. So the other columns will change as they ‘pair’ with the values that just got sorted; there’s no way to alter one set of fields without impacting the others as well.
Q2. For your 2 table visuals, it depends. Are each of your table visuals built from the same dataset or different?
Additionally, it also depends on what fields you’re using, could you add some screenshots of your two table visuals, along with the field wells that are feeding each visual so that I can assist further?
Q2 - I won’t be able to share the screenshots however, the 2 tables has same dataset.
And. also, those 2 tables are of same things but different contet for example, in table 1 it shows Mercedes Cars and in table 2 it shows BMW cars, if we see both are cars.
I want 1 table where I can have mercedes car and bmw car as there field is same.
Hi @rawoofar,
So for either of your tables, do you have a filter setup to limit the results?
While I’m not quite sure how your dataset is set up, why don’t you setup a filter that limits the results to only those 2 companies (Mercedes and BMW)?
Or are Mercedes and BMW setup as separate fields? If you can’t provide a screenshot, could you provide a list of the field names being used in each list to provide additional context?
Hi @rawoofar,
Sorry for the delayed response. So since you’re using the same fields in each table, why don’t you change your filter to include both Mercedes and BMW?
If you’d like to keep grouped, you could use a pivot table instead of a regular table.
Hi @rawoofar,
Since we haven’t heard back, I’ll close out this topic. However, if you have any additional questions, feel free to create a new post in the community and link this discussion for relevant information if needed.
