In the dataset I have geodata from a federal state in Germany. I would like to visualise the county. I have tested it in different ways. But it does not work. The map always shows the whole state and not the county.
In the table the county is called krs_code and krs_name. The visualisation only works for the zip code.
I assume that AWS QuickSight uses a different naming convention for the county, which does not match my dataset. Does anyone know what I find to be the international standard that is used in AWS QuickSight? Or perhaps you have some other advice for me?
Hi @Thanh-Binh.Ngo and welcome to the QuickSight community!
In your dataset, what data type do you have this field setup as? If not listed as ‘County’, have you tried switching this?
Hi Brett,
thank you for your reply. When I change the datatype to city, nothing happens in the filled map. But it does affect the location in the point map. In this situation, these change help me to show the location of the county in the point map. Without the change, I only saw one point in the point map.
Hi @Thanh-Binh.Ngo,
I was showing the ‘city’ portion as more of an example and was wondering if your dataset had it categorized as ‘county’ instead already. The mapping visuals tend to have issues with counties sometimes so if your filled map is still not recognizing them, I would consider creating a support ticket so that customer support can provide more in depth personalized assistance!
