How to Add parameters to direct query in the new version of Quick Sight

Hi all,
I’m trying to add two parameters to a direct query that I plan to use in a QS dashboard so I can filter the dataset before I return the results to the dashboard. The problem is that I cannot find the parameter control in the “Custom Query Screen”, I have tried to add the parameters manually, but I get an error when I execute the query.
How can I resolve this issue?

Hi @Robert_Esteves and welcome to the community!

The new data prep experience is still evolving, it was initially launched without some of the features initially available in the original data prep. It is my understanding, that the team is aware of this and is planning to incorporate these features in the new experience at some point. I believe that parameter usage is on of those features still being worked on, I would suggest switching back to the legacy experience to use parameters.

Please note that to switch the dataset to legacy view requires recreating the dataset.

Thanks for the update and glad the legacy view worked for you! You’re correct that switching to the legacy experience requires recreating the dataset from scratch. Unfortunately there’s no toggle to just flip back and forth between the two experiences on an existing dataset.
