I want to change the background color (from white to other color) for the filter that is added to sheet. I couldn’t find any color format option from the “format control” section (see screenshot below) or from anywhere else. Can anyone share any insight? Thanks.
Hi, Unfortunately I can’t find an option to change the background colour of the filter but there’s an option to change the font and a theme which gets applied at an analysis level.
Yes this is what I see as well. I did see other QuickSight dashboard with color background filled in the sheet filters. I wonder how other people do this, perhaps, those are parameters, not filters.

Hi Duncan. Thanks for the follow up. No I haven’t found the solution because changing the theme will change the entire background of the dashboard, but all I need is to change the color background of the filter while leaving the theme as is. I noticed this functionality may not be supported by AWS QuickSight

You can use the free form layout to change the filter background.
First you will need to go to the settings of your analysis, gear icon at the bottom left. Then select free-form layout. From there go to the filter you want to edit and go to the Style dropdown menu. Screenshot below:

Thanks @duncan, this is definitely the solution, but how do I change to free-from layout? I click on the setting of my analysis (the gear icon at the bottom right) but I don’t see the free form layout. See below. Can you give me more advice?
@ducan, actually I see you have “Customers” as a parameter, not a filter. I am assuming this color option only applies to parameter but not filter?

Are you using Quicksight via an embedded UI or through an additional service? You should be able to navigate the layout setting by pressing the Gear icon on the bottom right hand side control pannel where you also access your datasets, add filters, add parameters, and control themes:
And yes I was using a parameter control but this also works for filters as well:
@ducan. Alright I got it, the “trick” is to change the sheet layout from “Tiled” to “Free-Form”, then the “Style” option will be displayed under “format control” section of the filter. This is a lifesaver. I did not see such info from any of the aws quicksight doc and I came to the right place to ask the question and got the answer from you. Thanks a lot!
