How to create Aliases to rename Dimension's values in the View?

Hi Team,
Is there any feature similar to Tableau in Quicksight where you can create aliases (alternate names) for values in a dimension so that their values appear differently in the view?
Thanks!

Hi @saljain – Two ideas for using different names for the columns:

  1. Create a calculated field with a name you want to use. In the screenshot below, i created a calculated field that has values from “profit” column but is now called “money made”.

  2. You can also rename the display name on the visual by clicking on it as shown below

Hi,
I want to rename the column values (eg: campaigns_sent,click_rate). In Tableau, it was doable by editing the aliases for Column. But in Quicksight, is there a workaround except for calculated field?

Hi @saljain - Calculated field is the only option i can think of for your use case, if the option#2 of renaming the column name in the visual won’t work for you.

Hi @saljain

You can edit the Field’s name and description in the dataset editor.

Click on the ellipses button to the right of the field name and selected Edit Name & Description

My case is not to rename the column name but to rename the column values so calculated field is the only option I think now.
