With the recent rebranding, a pop-up window appears saying “Welcome to Amazon Quick.”
Currently, there seems to be no option to close this pop-up — there’s no “X” or “Close” button — and no way to prevent it from showing again after it’s been seen.
Our team has a shared dashboard that multiple users access. Each time a user logs in, the welcome message reappears, which is distracting for end users who only have read-only access.
Dear Quick developers and marketing campaign specialists, would it be possible to:
a) Add a “Close” icon or button to dismiss the pop-up, and/or
b) Allow users to hide the message for a certain period (for example, one week)?
I haven’t encountered this pop-up message personally, what type of action/where are you when receiving this pop-up message? Does anything happen if you were to click outside the box or is the only option to hit the ‘show me more’ button to get rid of it?
My team is using SSO to login to AWS account. You can try reproducing it by opening incognito window and logging in.
Once you login to AWS and click on Quicksight icon, this pop-up message appears. There is no way to close it except clicking on ‘Show me more’ and continue hitting next button until the end.
If you click outside the message, nothing is happening.
Thank you, I was able to get this message to appear and I understand where you’re coming from..that is odd there’s no ability to close until the end.
I don’t believe there’s an option for users to manually turn this message off, I assume it’s for a short time following the release and will not be permanent. To try and get it turned off on your account sooner, I would suggest creating a support ticket to see if the AWS team can assist further with that request!
thanks. I have created a case. For anyone who has the same problem, AWS shared this work around as there is no way to remove this pop-up message:
Since your team uses SSO to access QuickSight, I recommend updating your SSO Identity Provider’s default relay state URL to include this feature flag: ?wf=qbs_welcome_modal:C
This parameter (?wf=qbs_welcome_modal:C) will turn off the welcome modal when users access QuickSight through your SSO solution. You’ll need to implement this change in your Identity Provider’s configuration where you set up the application URL for QuickSight.
