It frustrates me to no end that the default option for a new user is “Reader Pro”. I know this is only the default to draw up AWS revenue, because even just one pro account charges $250 a month even if you don’t use Amazon Q (what pro is about). It makes no sense to have this the default option if it weren’t a revenue gatherer.
We had a newer employee set up new readers and just left it as Pro, and we were charged $500 for two months as we didn’t know it was happening. Thankfully it’s resolved with the billing department, but I still think we should be able to completely disable the pro option as it is incredibly easy to accidentally set a user up as a pro user.
