How to send alerts to all the dashboard users when specific event is triggered

Hello,

I’m currently working on a dashboard for my customers to monitor the performance of their embedded devices. I need to notify them when specific events, like faults or warnings, occur in their devices.

In the health check history table, when the status is a warning, I want to alert or notify the customer about this event. I attempted to set up alerts in Quicksight, but it doesn’t provide the option to input email addresses for dashboard users with reader accounts.

I’m seeking guidance on the best approach to achieve this use case. Is it possible to notify specific events using Quicksight alerts, or do I need to consider utilizing third-party tools?

Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Harsheena,

you cannot set an alert notification for multiple users. Users have to set this alert for themself. Each registered user in QuickSight can configure the threshold alert on their own for a dashboard and they should receive an email when the alert is triggered.

I believe this has already been raised as feature request. what you could do is set it for yourself and forward it to the desired list of users or DL. ( i know its not optimal for can be a workaround)

Hope this helps.

Deep

Thanks for the reply.

Does the dashboard user need to have an admin or author account?

Hello Harsheena,

No ! reader should be able to set the alert themself and no admin right is required.

Hope this helps.

Hello Deep,

Thanks for your reply!

I created one alert and I received the notification as well.

Is there a way I can customize the email contents or this template format in the quicksight?

Hello Harsheen,

Good to hear that its working. I am not aware of customising the template. I guess its as it is by default.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Deep
