Hyperlinks in pivot table

Are there any known issues with recent updates affecting hyperlinks in PivotTables?

I believe nothing has changed on our end. However, when I right-click on a hyperlink in the PivotTable, the option to follow the link is missing. For example, the “Navigation” action appears when right-clicked, but for hyperlinks, nothing happens. Only the options to “Expand” and “Collapse” are displayed.

For instance I have URL action defined like: http://<>
And this opens https//c… so without :
When I define as https://<> (as it should be)

this then doesnt work as link/name on right click just doesnt popup!

Solution for those who will have the same problem… My link was originally created as “http://something.com”, and now I simply erased http:// and left only “something.com”, and it’s working again. I still think this is not supposed to happen and should be addressed as a bug.

Hello @matjazz, thank you for updating this question with the work-around you discovered! My best guess is that QuickSight is no longer allowing links for HTTP, but rather is now requiring HTTPS. I’ll look and see if there is documentation on that to confirm, but HTTP networks are not secure, so that is definitely the preferred link type.

Hi, when I write https hyperlink option on right click is missing. Only on http is available. And when I use http and hyperlink is created as string with https:// “:” is missing

Since this seems like a bug with the url actions feature, I would recommend filing a case with AWS Support where we can dive into the details to help you further. Here are the steps to open a support case. If your
company has someone who manages your AWS account, you might not have direct access to AWS
Support and will need to raise an internal ticket to your IT team or whomever manages your AWS account. They should be able to open an AWS Support case on your behalf. Hope this helps!
