Is there a way to implement a“click to reveal” functionality?

Looking to be able to anonymise names in a dashboard as an ID, and then when clicked on it will show as in its name again.

Is this possible at this time? Thanks!

Hello @conpak, welcome to the QuickSight community!

There is some functionality for something like this, but it may not be exactly what you are looking for. If you utilize a mix of navigation actions with conditional rules in free form, you can hide and show visuals based on parameter values. You can set an on click navigation action to set a parameter value to something like TRUE, then have a visual that hides by default but shows when TRUE is the value. You could display a table with the ID values then on click swap to a table that shows names. I will link some documentation below. Let me know if this helps!

Hey there Dylan thanks for the links!

As you said, this isnt exactly what I was looking for but it does help put me on the right track. Im more looking to replace the value on-click, one at a time and not the whole table.

Additionally I cant find the Rules tab under properties as mentioned within the Coniditional rules link

Attached is the view I see on the table visual:

I do wonder if I am doing something wrong.

Hello @conpak, in order to gain access to the conditional rules section for the visual, you will need to switch your sheet display to the Free Form layout. That is the only way you can get that option on your visuals.

I will say though, if you are wanting to do this by value, one click at a time, you are going to run into some limitations. I don’t believe you will be able to achieve that functionality. The only route will be the all or nothing work-around that I mentioned above.

Hello @conpak, since I have not heard back from you with any follow-up questions, I will mark my above response as the solution. Please let me know if you still need any assistance with this and I can guide you further. Thank you!
