I’m using a table visualization in QuickSight to create a Leaderboard, which we display on a TV Screen. The issue i’m facing is that the table extends vertically, and there doesn’t seem to be an option to split the table into two columns (like a newspaper layout) to better utilize the screen space.
I’m also using conditional formatting(colors), so switching to other visuals like pivot or any other visuals isn’t option in my case.
Does QuickSight support Multi-Column Layouts for tables, or is there any workaround to achieve this?
I’m assuming that if you are doing a leaderboard that you have a limited number of rows you need to show, ie 100 rows.
You could use the rank function (if you aren’t already) and then create two tables. Filter each based on the rank with filter conditions. So the first would have a filter condition of “Less than or equal to” and set the value to 50. Then On your other table set the condition to “Greater than or equal to” with a value of 51.
@duncan I have one more question, Currently I am using the Spice and my dataset is refreshing for every 15 minutes. Is it possible to show the real data using direct query instead of spice or any suggestion for getting live data.
No problem! For real time metrics I recommend direct query.
It is essentially the closest thing you will get but depending on other factors like your database, how many visuals/filters you have, and how often you are refreshing you could see dashboard performance degrade slightly.
