I currently have a problem with some revenue KPIs.
I have created a KPI to show the daily change on our forecasted revenue but it doesn’t seem to be calculating the percentage correctly.
If we have a negative forecast one day and positive the next, Quicksight is showing this as a decrease in revenue rather than an increase.
When looking at the conditional formatting it seems to be triggering the “less than” condition even though the value today is positive and a lot larger than the negative value from yesterday
Hi @AbbeyB and welcome to the QuickSight community!
Would you be able to share some screenshots of your visual and the field well for the visual (similar to the picture below)?
What happens if you try switching the sort order?
I have created an example and tried what you said.
It looks as though it is a bug behind the scenes of how the more than and less than conditions work but there is not enough flexibility for me to fix it in the conditioning.
I do not want to change the order of the date as I want to compare todays date to yesterday. Switching the order starts comparing my first ever date with my second but I want to make sure I am always comparing our most recent date to the previous.
I have added a filter to force it to only look at the latest 2 dates just to test it out but this is now misleading for stakeholders as it is the old data that is front and center.
I have visuals at weekly granularity in the same sheet as well so having a filter forcing it to only look at 2 days will break everything else unfortunately.
Is there any way in Quicksight to post a bug report and get issues like this fixed?
Hi @AbbeyB,
I would suggest creating a support ticket to report this issue to the AWS support team, hopefully they’ll be able to assist in fixing this!
