Hi, I’m experiencing an issue when I try to left join 2 datasets, then only the the join data from the left table is visible. Also if I perform a right join on it then only the values from the right side are visible, I have checked my database, there is no issue in that. Also I have joined the tables on the keys with same datatypes.
Hi @Ayush_jaggi
Can you share some samples, maybe of the dataset preview? Because sounds to me like the is no match in the join fields.
BR
Hi @ErikG, I have shared a Snapshot of my dataset, I have joined using the columns acct_LAI_no and account_no, If Im performing a Left join only the attributes of the left table can be seen and if do the Right join only the attribute of the left join can be seen.
Hi @Ayush_jaggi - Welcome to AWS QuickSight community and thanks for posting the question. I am suspecting, the columns which are not visible in the excluded list. Can you please see the left panel, see the pic below.
Regards - Sanjeeb
No There are none in the Excluded fields @Sanjeeb2022
Hi @Ayush_jaggi - In All fields, are you able to see all your fields for both tables? If yes, you should see the field in the data preparation panel. Please check this.
Regards - Sanjeeb
Yes, @Sanjeeb2022 I can see All the data in the tables preview separately, but after the join only the data from one side can be shown.
Hi @Ayush_jaggi - Please check the Dataset tab and ensure you have selected all fields. Ideally it should see all the data. I can connect with you to see this behaviour.
Regards - Sanjeeb
Hi @Ayush_jaggi
do you have a account where you are 100% sure it is in both datasets?
BR
Hi @Sanjeeb2022 , I Have ensured that all fields are selected and also there are none in the excluded fields, The issue still persists. It would be great if you can connect on this issue. Let me know if G-meet works for you?
Thanks
Ayush Jaggi
Hi @Ayush_jaggi - Thanks. I will message you to connect.

Thank you @Ayush_jaggi for the discussion. As per our conversation, the issue is NOT at QuickSight side. There is an issue with data and no common data available between data sets and due to this the output is blank for other data sets. You are going to analyze the issue from data prospective.
You can mark the require post as solution so that it can help other community members.

Hello @Ayush_jaggi, were you able to resolve this issue or was one of the comments above helpful in finding a solution? If so could you either share your solution or mark one of the comments above as the solution?
Hi @DylanM - We can close this ticket as i discussed with @Ayush_jaggi and there is no issue with QS functionality and the issue is related to data used for join.
