Hi all, qq: what is the best way to create meeting recaps using Amazon Quick? For context, my meetings are recorded/transcribed using Microsoft Teams. Thanks

Microsoft Teams automatically generates transcript files (.vtt or .docx) for recorded meetings. You can download these from the meeting recording and use them with Amazon Quick to create a recap.

  • Upload the transcript: Click the attachment button in the chat input area to attach your transcript file.
  • Request a summary: Ask Amazon Quick to generate a recap. For example:Please summarize this meeting, including key action items and decisions.

Thank you. I appreciate your response. This process seems a bit too manual. That is, having to download the transcript, upload it and get Amazon Q to analyze it. Is there a way to create a direct connection to meeting recordings stored in the Microsoft cloud?

At this time, Amazon Quick does not offer a direct connection to meeting recordings stored in the Microsoft cloud.

However, there is a semi-automated approach that significantly reduces the manual steps:

OneDrive Sync (Recommended):

If your Teams meeting recordings/transcripts sync to your local machine via OneDrive, you can grant Amazon Quick access to that folder:

  • Go to Settings -> My computer -> Local folders
  • Add the folder where your Teams recordings/transcripts sync locally (typically under your OneDrive folder)

Once configured, you can simply reference meetings by name, no downloading or uploading required. You could also pair this with a scheduled task to automatically generate recaps for new transcripts as they appear.

I will mark this as a feature request to promote visibility to the product team.

Sorry for not responding sooner. I tried the solution you suggested but Amazon Quiock requires transcription of meetings to produce the recap. And because my meetings are stored as MP4 files and Amazon Quick does not recognize this file type, I have not been able to perform this use case. The other problem with the approach you proposed is that, syncing your folder with meeting recordings can take a long of time and index capacity. This does not seem like a good solution. I would recommend this is prioritized as it is a VERY common use case. Plus, tools like Microsoft Copilot can do this without any effort at all.
