Hello,
I am facing an issue while migrating the quick sight dashboard from one account to another, I am using the new asset deployment API StartAssetBundleExportJob - Amazon QuickSight to do it. However, it seems like the job fails when the datasource is configured by manually uploading the manifest file. I am getting the below error:
S3 data source created via uploading a local manifest file is not supported.
Please let me know how to navigate this issue as I do not have access to the manifest file.
Thanks!
Hello Srudrawa,
I understand that you are observing the reported error while trying to use asset bundle export operations.
Here, I would like to inform you that regarding the Message": "S3 data source created via uploading a local manifest file is not supported”. This is due to the unsupported data types as mentioned in this documentation - Asset bundle operations - Amazon QuickSight
It is known that the asset bundle APIs does not work for manifest files uploaded from the local machine. In this case, the simple workaround is use edit the datasource connection , add the manifest file to a S3 bucket and then update the connection using the S3 manifest file URL.
Please upload the manifest file to S3 and use that as a datasource to mitigate the error.
I hope the above information helps.

Hi @Adedolapo, I wanted to know if there is a way to retrieve the manifest file that was used while setting up the datasource. I do not have access to the manifest file so would like to retrieve it and update the datasource connection.
Hi @Koushik_Muthanna
Unfortunately I do not see the manifest file details upon describing the datasource as mentioned in that post. I want to know if we have a way to retrieve the file if it was uploaded manually and not via s3!
@srudrawa ,
for file upload directly from the QuickSight console, you would have to ask the colleague who uploaded it to create a dataset.
I will be marking this as the solution.
Kind regards,
Koushik
