Multiple properties entries in dashboard - how to split them and add their totals to the individual entries

I have a dashboard where I am using a field (categories) to display the totals for those categories.

The issue I am facing is that the dashboard shows the totals separately where there are multiple categories selected in the field.

For example, I have

Category A - 5000
Category B - 1234
Category C - 786
Category A, Category B - 345
Category A, Category B, Category C - 23

So ideally, I’d like to be able to have the Category A total also include the 345 and 23 (its total would be 5368), etc. and that “Category A, Category B - 345” would not be shown in the table at all.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Hi @petersj and welcome to the Quick Sight Community!
This should be achievable through utilizing the sumIf and contains functions.

There’s an example format on the ‘contains’ page linked above but may look something like:

sumIf('{TotalsField}', contains('{categories}' , "Category A" ))

Let me know if this works for your case or if you have any additional questions!

Thanks @Brett , that certainly seems to be the solution but I now to need to figure out now how lay out the table again as it seems you can’t group by a calculated field
