Need to be able to add a gross profit into a existing pivot table

I have refences that seem to show being able to add a subtotal in the middle of pivot table without having to make a different table, Introducing advanced formatting options for pivot table totals and subtotals in Amazon QuickSight. However I am unable to find details on how to add a row.

Hello @Sanders77 Welcome to community! Hope this message finds you well

If I understand what you mean, you need:
add two different rows on your pivot table and to make the subtotal appears, go to Format Visual>Pivot Options>Layout and them change Hierarchy for Tabular

Please, tell me if it’s work!!

Thank you @lary_andr for the warm welcome. Afraid I did a poor job explaining what I am needing to do so this and Tabular didn’t appear to accomplish this change. I need to be able to do a sub total of total Revenues -Cost of Sales as GROSS PROFIT but not affect the existing totaling of NET PROFIT. I believe this would a standard need for income statements so I expect its just a lack of understanding on my side. The order is import and GROSS PROFIT must come after COST OF SALES but before EXPENSES.

Hi @Sanders77

See if this helps

Hi @Giridhar.Prabhu

I tried both these already and have adjusted my dataset to be able to create a subtotal for gross profit as desired. However that leads a separate issue of needing to be able to conditionally not display a second subtotal for expense. For an Income Statement need a way to to subtotal only for revenue and cost of sales as gross profit, then expense should not make/display subtotal any suggestion on conditional sub totals?
