Organizing Quicksight DashBoard

We have almost 100’s DashBoards and we need to organize by dept. I tried using the shared folder it’s not that great. Can we have subfolders under DashBoards like below : Also can we rename the shared folders name to a different name? Users are getting confused with shared folders. We need better options to organize DashBorads for EndUsers, they are getting confused with screen full of dashboards.

Hi @Sundar_Narayanan - I believe you can not change the name of the share folders as QuickSight is SaaS and configuration is same for all customers. In our case, what we did we create sub folders under share folders like different line of business and add the dashboard to the respective folders. This is one way of managing the artifacts.

Thank you. End user’s perspective it would be nice to rename the folder like companyname_dashboards and underneath subfolders for each dept. I know this is a small feature request compared to other technical challenges we have with QS. In order to make them happy it would be nice to have some flexibility

Hi @Max @David_Wong @ArunSanthosh @Koushik_Muthanna @eperts - Can we customize /rename the shared folders to any other name? Please advise.

@Sundar_Narayanan - Just to confirm the ask. Are you looking for a) a way to rename “Shared Folders” in the main UI to something custom or b) a better way to organize the dashboards shared in “Shared Folders” by business unit/department?

You can name the folders and subfolders that you create but you can’t change the “Shared folders” label.
