Will be planning to move from tableau to quicksight, as part of this identified issue related to dataset parameter. As you are aware of in Tableau we can create as many parameters and used it in calculated fields, we have scenarios where in one tableau workbook we have almost 50 parameters but when we try to migrate it to quicksight, found that there is an limitation of total 32 parameters. Please note, we have created calculated columns in dataset level only as in futre same dataset might we used to prepare other analysis. How we can resolve this issue.
Let me know if you need any additional detail from my end.
In Amazon Quick Sight, there are specific limits for parameters that can be created. For dataset parameters, you can use up to 128 dataset parameters in a custom SQL query. See reference
For analysis-level calculations, you can have up to 200 calculated fields per dataset within an analysis. See reference
The overall limit for an analysis (sum of all calculated fields from different datasets plus analysis-level calculations) is 500.
When working with dataset parameters, they can be mapped to analysis parameters to be used with filters, controls, and other analysis parameter features.
Dataset parameters can be used for custom SQL in direct query, as repeatable variables, and to move calculated fields to datasets. See Limit reference
Hi @anshul1243,
Since we have not heard back, I’ll go ahead and close out this topic. However, if you have any additional questions, feel free to create a new post in the community.
