Q: Amazon Q Embedding in QuickSight is about changing the UI/UX ? Any new feature or functions have been introduced through Amazon Q Embedding to our business?
A: “eah, it’s not just the change to UX, there are some improvements made in this sense, we are offering this full screen mode and then we are offering the better control using the focus height and full height. There’s customization option there in the search bar experience, but it’s not just that, like, I mentioned at the very beginning, there’s a lot of improvements in how responds to your questions. If you just asked the question, the chances of queue coming back with a meaningful answer was maybe 50% earlier on, but now, if you just type in something as simple as just customers, Q will latch onto that and go try to find what can be of value to you and it’s sort of surfaces that in a multi visual response. Like you see here. It’s giving me an insight into what data is available within that dimension, telling me, hey, there are 99 customers use the customer names and here are some other info that I think would be useful to you. There is a lot of improvements and then there is, of course, this summarization that comes with that. It also summarizes the data that it’s showing you in visuals as text so it’s better to understand the data.”
Q: What would happen if we try to use legacy topics with the new embedding experience and vice-versa (new topics with old embedding experience)?
A: It will not let you embed, it would give you that information in the error message. I pointed it out over here where it said there was a topic mismatch. It would give that as an error message back to you if you’re catching the messages and displaying on consult, you’ll be able to see that.
Q: Is there any restriction on the type of page you can embed on? For example, can you embed Q within a Wiki page ?
A:There is no restriction as such. It depends on your wicki implementation. And you are able to make this call to generate the URL and get that and put it as an I frame you can embed it in any kind of webpage or any kind of a wiki but in enterprise use cases, most likely the wiki administrators might have put additional checks in place or additional rules in place, which says, hey, you can embed a static image, but we won’t let you embed a dynamic html snippet, or any scripting or that kind of stuff.
So, if there are any such additional enforcements being done by your wiki administrator, then you’ll have to discuss with them and say what can they do to let you add that, they might be able to make exceptions for you. They might be able to give you a wrapper module, which says if I put something, um, topic ID and the dashboard ID within and that keeps my dashboard or Q topic kind of tags, they intercept that tag and do what’s needed under the hood to make that embedding happen. So there can be such solutions that they can implement.
The answer is it can be embedded into an HTML page provided your page admin or the website admin hasn’t logged anything done.
